Hello, I’m Asmita Khatavkar, Founder and CEO of LUHO Silk. Luho Silk is all about what I believe in – “There is a great beauty in simplicity. If you are being simple and natural in whatever you do, its beauty is going to last longer”.
Since childhood, I had very dry and wavy hair and to top it all very dry skin! As I grew, my hair became more frizzy, dry and unruly. I never believed in using silicone-infused shampoos, conditioners and serums as they all give temporary good results and damage the hair in the long run.
In my quest for treating my hair and skin with natural and organic means, in 2017, I stumbled on blogs that said and reiterated how Mulberry Silk has immense benefits for hair and silk. After thorough research, I thought of buying a Mulberry silk pillowcase from China as it was not available in India then.
My experience of using a Mulberry Silk pillowcase was exceptional. I never thought my hair and skin problems would reduce greatly merely by changing a pillowcase! My hair texture improved and my skin became smoother and hydrated. Since then, I never turned to cotton or any other fabric pillowcases!
After using my adorable Mulberry Silk pillowcase for three years, it was time to find its successor and my search for began. To my surprise, I couldn’t find an authentic Mulberry Silk pillowcase anywhere on online shopping portals in India. This transpired me to start LUHO Silk and generate awareness about the tremendous benefits of Mulberry Silk among innumerable Indian women who suffer from hair and skin problems since ages.
